Desert Rose Mobile Pet Service
– delivered with courtesy and respect!

you can expect our full attention to your pets’ needs.

What to expect:

Due to the nature of being a mobile veterinary practice, arrival times can vary by 30 to 60 minutes. Often depending on the time of day & distance traveled. Each home visit tends to be unique in that we do not know how the visit will go, unless we are familiar with your pets & you. Usually we can tell you that most pets are more comfortable in their own environment, and with their people in sight. But that does not guarantee that all will go smooth. At times pets have favorite hiding places and know the home better than we do, so that can be challenging at times. That tends to be the case more so with cats in their home, but we can advise pet owners on how to handle these challenges to try to make the home visit the most stress free and comfortable for each individual pet. Once we have entered the home, we try to find a comfortable area with room to work & good lighting. We start with pertinent medical history asking questions and getting background on each individual pet. Dr. Lopez will examine your pet, ask further questions and make appropriate recommendations for each individual pet. There is always time for any questions you may have for Dr. Lopez regarding your pet’s health and well being. When we are getting ready to leave, we try to make sure that both people and pets are comfortable with the exam & procedures performed, make a plan for future veterinary care and schedule follow up visits if & when necessary.

Payment is expected at the end of the visit & can be made in the form of cash, check or VISA/MC. Your receipt will be emailed to you in minutes & any further communication will be made via email between Dr. Lopez & pet parent.

My Sammy is a 14 year old Poodle/Chihuahua mix. When called to make the appointment I was very happy when I hung up and had an appointment for the very next morning! They arrived spot on time and proceeded to get right to the business at hand. Sammy took to them immediately which was no wonder as you could see how much of their hearts was invested in what they were doing. The pit worked so well together I half expected to hear them finishing each others sentences. The were very professional at the same time. They had everything they needed right down to the medication he needed. I couldn''t be any happier!!!! Thank the three of you so very much!!!!

My vet left town for over a month w/no warning. I discovered it when I called to reorder my cat's chronic meds. I called all over town trying to find someone who would see my baby on short notice. She's 15 yo & needs her meds. Not a vet would help us not even walk in clinics. In desperation I called Desert Rose & they could see here on short notice. I was so surprised. The vet was kind but efficient. She asked appropriate questions & took the time to do a thorough exam. I was shocked at the reasonable price. I wouldn't hesitate to use her again. In fact I would encourage people to rethink mobile vet services because the price was reasonable & my cat was much less stressed than her usual ride to the vet w/her serenading me w/howls from the back seat.

Dr Lopez, Jennifer it was hard to let go but they made it so peaceful. I’m so glad that I could have them come and give Rubie and I a loving and respectful goodbye. They were crying, too. You, Debbie, Jennifer, and Dr Lopez have always made Rubie and I feel like family.
One thing that’s hard is Rubie was my go to when I needed comfort and unconditional love. I know you all feel that way about your pets.
I want to have another sweetie in my life but I don’t know if it should be a dog or cat. Maybe two so they have company when I'm out. She or he need to be as loving and cuddling as Rubie was. Thank you again. I tell people how wonderful you all are

Hi Dr. Lopez —

Many thanks for this personalized update and for sending along Juniper's test results. These results are such a relief to see — I can’t begin to tell you how much, in fact!
In general, she seems to be doing quite well now. Yesterday was the first time in 4 days now where she didn’t throw up, and she’s continuing to do well (which is especially encouraging given, in particular, she’s now well outside the 24-hour cerenia window). Yesterday was also the first day where I did not administer any oral meds (i.e., no gabapentin, no sucralfate, and no amoxicillin, the latter of which she ran out of). As of last night/this morning, her appetite and willingness to drink water has also finally returned. So, perhaps it was related to the medications after all? That seems to be the final denominator... Still, I certainly don’t regret in the slightest taking an abundance of caution (given her internal injuries from the fall), and in getting some closure on her organ health vis-a-vis her bloodwork numbers.

A heartfelt thanks, again, to you and Jenn for taking time out of your day on Wednesday to help. It really means a lot.

All best
Matt (and Juniper!)

Good morning!

Thank you again for your wonderful services for Sammy. It was a pleasure to welcome you into my home. You made me feel comfortable and confident that you would do a great job with Sam. And your care for Sam was so kind and gentle. You gave superb service. Thank you.

Sammy has recovered well. And last night I witnessed my training with him pay off. He and I were on the patio after dark enjoying the refreshing air. He was sitting on the patio wall when a neighbor and her dog walked by, and the dog "Scamp" popped his head up over the wall and scared Sam. Sam leaped off the wall and ran headlong through the magnetic screen door and into the apt. I had been working with him to achieve that since he knew how to get out that way but not come back in that way. Success!!

Warmly,

Marilyn

I just want to say a big thank you to Dr. Lopez and her amazing team!!! We have a 15 year old GSP and we just had a visit with her and I’m sitting here wondering where Dr. Lopez has been all our lives!! She is kind, caring and understanding. She will be our forever vet. I can not thank her and her team enough!! We have had bad vets in the past and she has put all our worries behind us. From the first time I called to the actual visit has been absolutely wonderful. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts!!!
